Stephens travels extensively to wine regions all over the globe to explore the culture of wine and the diversity of its people and places. He is a sommelier and an annual judge for the Arizona Wine Growers Association’s (AWGA) wine competition presented by Arizona Republic/ azcentral and serves as a member of the AWGA Board of Directors.
He is co-owner of Beckett’s Table in Phoenix, a restaurant focusing on seasonal Americancooking and a diverse international wine list developed in partnership with his wife Katie, also a sommelier, and their business associates Chef Justin and Michelle Beckett. Additionally, Stephens is a co-owner of Southern Rail in Phoenix, featuring American classic dining with a southern twist and a generous nod to New Orleans Creole and Carolina Low Country cooking. The all-American wine program is bolstered by nearly a third of its list dedicated to locally sourced Arizona wines.
Both restaurants are multiple winners of Wine Spectators Award of Excellence for their wine program.
